How to Block an Email Address on Gmail

If you're receiving unwanted or spam emails, Gmail provides a feature to block specific email addresses and prevent them from reaching your inbox. Once blocked, emails from that sender will be automatically redirected to the Spam or Trash folder. Follow these steps to block an email address in Gmail:

Steps to Block an Email Address on Gmail:

  1. Log in to your Gmail account using your web browser.
  2. Find the email from the sender you want to block. You can search by name, email address, or keywords related to the message.
  3. Select the email by clicking on it.
  4. Click on the three-dot menu (⁝) in the upper-right corner of the email.
  5. From the drop-down menu, click on "Block [Sender's Name]".
  6. A confirmation message will appear asking if you want to block the sender. Click "Block" to confirm.
  7. Once confirmed, all future emails from that sender will automatically go to the Spam or Trash folder based on your Gmail settings.

Important Notes:

  • Blocking an email address does not delete previously received messages from that sender. These emails will remain in your inbox unless manually deleted.
  • If you ever want to unblock the sender, follow the same steps and choose "Unblock" instead.

By using this feature, you can effectively reduce spam and unwanted messages, keeping your inbox clean and organized. 🚀
